Berlin Film Festival
We were so excited this year to be able to provide, for the first ever, a trip abroad for our young people! Our Youth Theatre Group wrote a spoken word piece for their annual self devised show last year named ‘I’m Just a Teenager’.
The spoken word piece was our young peoples voice reflecting the struggles that they feel young people have to face in today’s society. We then decided to film this spoken word piece (which you can find on our youtube channel) and enter it into the Berlin Film Festival.
Once entered into the Film festival, we were then lucky enough to be invited over to Berlin by the town Mayor in which the festival is held and experience the film festival first hand.
Our Youth Theatre group were so excited to be able to travel to Berlin and see their work, along with others in the competition first hand.
We have been working hard towards achieving our bronze award for quality assurance with Pro-Action this year.
This has been a fantastic achievement for Fixation, with the help of Pro-Action, guiding and supporting us through our first steps and now through achieving our Bronze Award in 2020.
Fixation Theatre Company represents the Borough of Barnet in the London New Years Day Parade and wins!
At the beginning of 2020, we were so excited to enter into the London New Years Day Parade alongside the Susi Earnshaw Theatre School and Saracens, representing the London Borough of Barnet, with the Mayor of Barnet, Cllr Caroline Stock, on 1st January 2020.
We entered into the parade with the theme of ‘Live Your Best Life’, focusing on the importance of mental health and celebrating living in the moment to make life more enjoyable for all!
Our float and performance reflected this with our bright rainbow coloured costumes, while dancing too ‘happy’ in front of the float – on which Cllr Caroline stood and waved to the thousands watching.
The Borough of Barnet came out on top in the parade coming in 5th place overall and winning £6,000 for charity!
